AF Fabrications Limited - Subsidiary of AF Switchgear Limited

AF Fabrications Limited commenced operation on 3rd March 2008. The new company forms part of the AF Switchgear Group, and is the only supplier of enclosures to AF Switchgear Limited.

Established to provide a more reliable and cost effective supply chain, it will provide a better solution for the implementation of company standards across its product range.

At the outset, a programme commenced for the construction of an "on-site", purpose-built unit, specifically designed for our requirements.

AF Fabrications Limited will evolve in three phases as follows :-

Phase 1 - with the design team already in place, in the coming months it will move to standardize our the AF Switchgear Limited construction variants and introduce a 3D CAD system that will eventually be adopted throughout all stages of the fabrication process. During this initial phase, the design team will subcontract the metalwork manufacture to our existing subcontractors, who will all be conforming to the new construction formats.

Phase 2 - will bring the actual fabrication in house. The Design Team will move to our existing Facility 3 location, where fabrication work will commence. Selection CNC controlled fabrication equipment and a recruitment programme for operatives commenced immediately after the foundation of AF Fabrications Limited.

Phase 3 - The production undertaken in Facility 3, will be transferred to the new "on-site", purpose-built unit, that includes fabrication areas, paint shop and office facilities, upon its completion.
